건축, 디자인, 디지털 문화 분야의 박물관이자 협력 에이전시, 그리고 건축, 도시계획 분야의 아카이브 역할도 겸하고 있습니다. 네덜란드 현지 및 지역적 프로젝트 뿐만 아니라, 시장 확장을 위한 정책 수립 및 각종 국제 비엔날레에 네덜란드의 참여를 이끄는 등 다양한 디자인 섹터에서의 국제적 역할을 수행합니다. 2016년 네덜란드 교육문화과학부에 의해 네덜란드 창의 산업(Creative Industries) 분야의 국제화를 위한 기관으로 지정되었으며, 이를 위한 활동 조정, 탤런트 맵핑, 국제 교류 지원 등의 역할을 수행하고 있습니다.

세계 각국의 전문가들이 참여 가능한 국제 방문자 프로그램(International Visitors’ Programme)도 운영하고 있는데요. 지금이 바로 모집기간입니다. Dutch Design(이후 ‘더치 디자인’)의 현장에서 일하고 있는 전문가들을 만날 수 있는 기회인데요. 더치 디자인과 만나는 “국제 방문자 프로그램”을 소개합니다.

International Visitors’ Programme

매년, 건축, 디자인, 패션, 디지털 문화 분야에서 일하고 있는 수십명의 국제 전문가들이 네덜란드를 방문합니다. The New Institute (Het Nieuwe Instituut)의 초대로, 더치 디자인(Dutch Design)을 특징짓는 다양한 분야의 작업 방법을 접하게 됩니다.

이러한 국제 방문자 프로그램은 국제적인 대화, 문화 교류, 시장 확장, 그리고 국제적인 전문가 네트워크의 확장 등을 돕습니다. 기관에서는 방문객들이 빠른 시간 내에, 더치 디자인 계열에서 종사하는 많은 기관 및 사람들을 이해할 수 있도록 개별 맞춤 일정(tailor made program)을 마련합니다.

일부 방문객들은 Het Nieuwe Instituut의 프로그램으로 연계 되고, 다른 일부는 파트너 문화 기관이나 네덜란드 대사관들과의 협력으로 주최됩니다. 방문객들은 전 세계로부터 맞이하고 있으며, 정부의 국제 문화 정책에서 지정한 우선순위 국가들에 주로 집중하고 있습니다. 한국은 물론, 벨기에, 브라질, 중국, 독일, 이집트, 프랑스 등 14국의 우선 국가들이 이에 해당합니다. 국제 방문자 프로그램은 네덜란드 외교부로부터 기금 지원을 받아 이루어집니다.

본 프로그램에 참여하기 위해서는, 네덜란드 혹은 자국내에서 더치 디자인과 관련된 행사 혹은 프로그램이 예정되어 있어야 합니다. 개인이 직접 신청할 수는 없으며, 신청은 네덜란드 측 프로그램 초청자나 문화기관, 네덜란드 대사관의 협력으로만 이루어지고 있습니다. 따라서 본 프로그램에 관심이 있으시거나 더 세부적인 요건과 신청 방법이 궁금하신 경우 주한네덜란드대사관 문화부에 연락 바랍니다. 2018년 방문자 프로그램 신청은 11월 30일에 마감되며, 이 프로그램에 대한 더 자세한 정보는 Het Nieuwe Instituut의 International Visitors’ Programme 소개 페이지에서 확인할 수 있습니다.

2018년 방문을 위한 올해의 신청은 곧 마감되지만, 더치 디자인에 관심이 있거나 추후 국내에서 관련 프로그램을 계획 중이신 건축, 디자인, 패션 혹은 디지털 컬처 분야 전문가라면 주한 네덜란드 대사관 문화부로 연락 주시기 바랍니다.

International Visitors’ Programme (by Het Nieuwe Instituut)

Each year, dozens of international professionals working in the fields of architecture, design, fashion and digital culture come to the Netherlands at Het Nieuwe Instituut’s invitation to get acquainted with the multidisciplinary way of working that characterises Dutch design.

The International Visitors Programme fosters international dialogue, cultural exchange, market expansion, and broadening of the international professional network. The institute creates custom schedules that enable its guests to quickly get to know a large number of organisations and individuals working in the Dutch design field.

Some visits are connected with Het Nieuwe Instituut’s programme tracks; others are hosted in collaboration with partner cultural organisations and Dutch embassies. Visitors hail from all over the world, with a focus on the priority countries named in the government’s international cultural policy: Belgium (specifically Flanders), Brazil, China, Germany, Egypt, France, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Marokko, Rusland, Suriname, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States, South Africa and South Korea.
